Attenborough N.R. - Scaup x 2 main pond,bittern delta reedbed,shelduck x 2,ruddy duck x 61 on Conneries,brambling on southside.

Tue 27th Dec

Attenborough - Scaup x4[main pond],Pintail[drake on clifton pit],Shelduck x2 [[clifton pit],R.C.Pochard[female on church pond],Chiffchaff x6[between sailing pit/sewerage plant].

Sat 24th Dec

Attenborough - A Bittern was showing well directly across from the delta hide from (at least) 12.50pm and showed even better after being flushed by a fox at around 3.20pm!!. 4 Chiffchaffs [Toton Sewerage works], male Stonechat [Erewash field].

Fri 23rd Dec

Attenborough - 3 Bitterns in the delta area, late afternoon.

Attenborough - 2 Short eared Owls over the Erewash field at 2pm.

Thu 22nd Dec

Attenborough - Bittern x2[delta hide],Brambling,Fem Scaup[main pond,Yellowhammer x2. Thu 22nd Dec: Attenborough - Bittern x 3 at the Delta. Also Firecrest x 1 near Sewage farm.

Wed 21st Dec

Attenborough N.R. - Female scaup-Tween pond,Smew off north path midday,shelduck-works pond.

Tue 20th Dec

Attenborough N.R. - Two bitterns in delta reedbed,redhead smew main pond,6+lesser redpoll Barton lane,red-crested pochard-church pond,corn bunting,2 chiffchaff,sev.water rail,c.20 siskin,grey wagtail.

Mon 19th Dec

Attenborough - 2 male Goldeneye, Kingfisher, 23 Goosander, 6 Snipe (Works Beach), 7 Siskin, Water Rail (Wet Marsh).

Sat 17th Dec

Attenborough - The Barton Lane new hide feeders attracting a lot of birds including Tree Sparrow, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Redpoll, Gold Finch, Chaffinch, Green Finch, Tits, Dunnock, Wren, Kingfisher flying by. Goldeneye, Greylag and Egyptian Geese on Clifton Pit. Goosander on the works pit. Willow Tits on Delta Gates feeding table. 3 Short eared Owls in Erewash field 2 - 3pm. Stand with your back to the railway line looking towards the pylons and round towards the back of the visitor centre.2 Bitterns from Delta hide 3 -4pm, perched / roosted two thirds of the way up the reed stems. Also in the delta Gadwall, Teal, Little Grebe, Sparrow Hawk.
