Accessibility

The Nature Centre is fully accessible being all on one level. An accessible toilet is available. A wheelchair can be borrowed to get from the car park to the Nature Centre (tel. 0115 972 1777).

The Car Park, which is 50m from the Centre has accessible spaces, some overlooking the lake.

A hearing loop is provided in the Conference Room.

The Nature Reserve is on one level with some steeper slopes over bridges. The path surfaces, in the main, are accessible to all. It may be worth checking before your visit on the state of the paths as some are liable to flooding in very wet weather.

Accessibility and this Website

During development we have tried to make this site accessible to everybody, regardless of what browsing device is used. If you find something that needs improvement to make the site even more accessible, please contact us.

Standards compliance

This site is built on valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional for structure and uses CSS for presentation throughout, meaning that it should work with just about any web browser, though there may be visual differences.

Navigation aids

Each page on this website contains links (at the top of the page) which enable a visitor to quickly skip to key sections of the page. These ‘skiplinks’ allow you to quickly access the main navigation menu as well as the main page content and the page footer links. Links can also be navigated using the Tab key on your keyboard.

Links

Whenever possible, links are written to make sense out of context and there are no links that open new windows without warning.
