Beeston Wildlife Group - Walks and Talks
Beeston Wildlife Group is one of the local groups of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Much of their attention is focused on the activities and events at Attenborough Nature Reserve.
Talks
Talks are held every month from September to April at Trent Vale Infant School, Trent Road, Beeston Rylands, Nottinghamshire NG9 1LP. Directions to Trent Vale School
Talks start at 7.30pm until 9.30pm. Admission is £2 which includes refreshments. ALL WELCOME
The last talk of this season was held on April 19th - Out of Attenborough! (Keith Corbett Memorial) by Paul Stanicliffe. From his early days of bird watching and ringing at Attenborough, to living on the isles of Scilly and now working as Press Officer for the British Trust for Ornithology, Paul looked at how birds and people have inspired him and how it was all started by his mentor - Keith Corbett. The talk was excellent with 120 in the audience. Paul delivered a very human and fitting tribute to Keith with many pictures of wildlife but also of tother local people who were also inspired by Keith Corbett and indeed Bill Wheatley.
The next talk is on Sept 20th 2010 FAMILIAR WILD FLOWERS By Dr David Glynne Fox
Wild flowers are all around us, but what do we know about them? Dave brings to life the likes of dandelions, bluebells and poppies. What is special about foxgloves or stinging nettles? Expect humour, surprises and brilliant photography.

Guided Walks
Guided walks are held monthly on a Saturday meeting at the Attenborough Nature Centre Car Park on Barton Lane at 10am until 1pm. Booking is not required, just turn up on the day and dress for the weather.
