Wildlife Garden
Come and discover our wildlife garden, the Willow Peninsula, at the back of the Nature Centre. Find out what makes a nature garden and pick up tips to make your own wildlife garden at home and discover the wildlife products in the Nature Shop.
The garden, which was created by volunteers, features a pond with a willow fence, some great feeders and a variety of nest boxes and insect homes. Interesting signage also helps guide you through the special features of this garden.
Daily we can expect to see large numbers of tree sparrows, long tailed tits, great tits, blue tits, and a pair of greater spotted woodpeckers. More rarely we will see a water rail, bullfinches, rock dove, goldcrest and green woodpecker.
We have a family trail called the ‘Badger Trail’ to help you discover the special features of this garden, ask at reception when you get here or download the Spotting page and see what you can discover at home.
You can download the Wildlife Trust’s free publication for tips and advice on how to create a wildlife garden at home. Wildlife Gardening Leaflet
